“When I dare to be powerful—to use my strength in the service of my vision, then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid.”

— Audre Lorde.

Meet Pep

Pep Phelan (she/her) is a Koorie, vision-impaired, queer scholar, artist, writer, poet, photographer, fungi enthusiast, and professional collector of random facts.

Neurospicy to the core, she's currently obsessed with photography and fungi — both separately, and together, and has the tattoos to prove it. When she's not deep in a bilby hole of weird and wonderful knowledge, Pep can usually be found with her dog sidekick Reggie, an iced coffee in hand, and far too much hyperfocus and enthusiasm for whatever has captured her rage or curiosity this week.

Pep’s work can be found in Archer Magazine, and throughout a range of academic journals and publications from across the globe.
